Where the method comes from
Twenty-five years of financial reporting, long before any of it was a dashboard.
The method behind Reportive was built producing monthly financial reports for businesses the hard way, in spreadsheets and printed packs, sitting with owners while they read them. That is where the structure comes from: the order the questions get asked in, the measures that turn out to matter, and the language that works when the reader is not an accountant.
The technology changed. Power BI replaced the spreadsheet, a secure portal replaced the printed pack, and the written analysis is produced from the data rather than typed from scratch. What did not change is the discipline underneath it.
How we work
Three rules we do not bend.
Every figure ties back
Primary accounts are carried exactly as your books hold them. Sub-accounts are never moved, split or reclassified to make a nicer looking report. If a total on our screen does not match your trial balance, it is our error and we fix it.
Plain words, both languages
Reporting is written for the person who has to decide, in Greek or in English, natively in each. A term of art is used only where it is the clearest word available, and then it is explained once.
Your data stays yours
Each client has a separate portal account and separate access. Reports and files are served behind a login rather than through shareable links, and nothing is used for anything other than your own reporting.
Working alongside
We sit next to your accountant, not in front of them.
Your accountant keeps the books, closes the year and files the accounts. That relationship does not change. The questions that used to reach them out of hours simply have a screen that answers them now.
What Reportive adds is the month in between: the reporting that a finance director would produce if the business had one on the payroll.
